In a joint press release January 18, 2021, the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr, Concerned Black American Citizens joins with The Reparationist Collective along with Black Pact and BLM of Minnesota in a call for a presidential commission on African American reparations, along with five additional demands in the Biden Administration's First 100 Days.
The Reparationist Collective is a coalition of nonpartisan social justice, political and public policy grassroots organizations advocating for federal reparations and restorative legislation for Black Americans who are descendants of American chattel slavery.
The Reparationist Collective plans to organize the African American community and likeminded “Reparationists” across the nation and the globe to call on President-elect Biden to execute these orders. If not, says Perry, “Biden should be prepared to risk losing Democratic control of the US House of Representatives in 2022 and the presidency in 2024. We’re prepared to withhold the vote from any political candidate or party that doesn’t support reparations for African Americans specifically, and our Black Agenda.”
