Are you passionate about genealogy, history, and preserving the legacy of America's Freedmen?
Join us for an informational session to learn how you can become a Freedmen Genealogy Specialist (FGS) and help descendants of emancipated American slaves and free people of color reconnect with their documented ancestry through historical records and proven research methods. Whether you're beginning your own family history journey or have prior genealogy experience, you'll discover how FGS training can help you: Learn to research Freedmen ancestry using historical records, including Freedmen's Bureau records and other primary sources. Break through your own genealogy "brick walls" with practical research strategies. Help individuals and families document their lineage and reconnect with their heritage.
