It focuses on connecting descendants of emancipated American chattel slaves, also known as Freedmen descendants, with their Freedmen ancestors using Freedmen Bureau Records. Participants will learn about the Freedmen status and the justice claim of Reparations owed to this unique historic American ethnic group, and how to verify and document your own family's Freedmen status.
